Reading Challenge Update-July

I missed last months update and I am late with this one.  This on is also going to look very informal compared to the others, no links and I'm not posting the full list of books previously read.  And in another note I think I'm cutting it down to 52 book, equal to 1 book a week, due to being really busy with the whole preparing to live on my own in 21 days.

I the last two months I have only gotten around to reading 5 books and one of those was a re-read.  I am now up to 27 books, 28 if you could the one book I've read so far in August.

The 5 books I read in the past 2 months were...

  1. The Book of Awesome by:  Neil Pasricha
  2. Annie May's Black Book by: Debby Holt
  3. Dreams of a Dark Warrior by: Kresley Cole
  4. Seraphs by: Faith Hunter
  5. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter by: Seth Grahame-Smith
Still from the movie, Ben Walker as an aged Abe.  And my current obsession, Dominic Cooper, as Henry Sturges.
If you have been keeping up with my updates you will be able to tell that the re-read was Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.  It is actually a great book that was actually surprisingly historically accurate, with the exception of vampires of course.  If you've seen the movie, just know that the book is 100 times better.  :P

Reading Challenge Update April

Last challenge I was asked what a book was about(sorry for not replying, it slipped my mind) so I will be linking each book I've read to a summary.  So if there is a book you wish to read about click the link although I would advice you not read the entire summary because they usually give away the ending.

I will also be breaking the list into two sections, books read in previous months and the books read in the last month.  This month I will link to the books previously read but to make it easier next month only the new books will be linked.

Previously Read
  1. Dracula by: Bram Stoker
  2. Z for Zachariah by: Robert C. O'Brien
  3. Dracula the Un-dead by: Dacre Stoker & Ian Holt
  4. Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk by: David Sedaris
  5. Vampire Academy(Graphic Novel) by: Richelle Mead, Adapted by: Leigh Dragoon
  6. Frozen by: Robin Wasserman
  7. Of mice and Men by: John Steinbeck
  8. Shattered by: Robin Wasserman

April Books

     9.  Torn by: Robin Wasserman
   10. On Golden Pond by: Ernest Thompson
   11. Inherit the Wind by: Jerome Lawrence & Robert E. lee
   12. Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter by: Seth Grahame-Smith
   13. The Fallen by Thomas E. Sneigoski

Also tomorrow I should have a post of the things i bought out of town.  Its not much but its still something.

Another Month, Another Failure

Don't worry this is not one of those self-loathing posts about how I can't do anything right.

It is however the last day of the month so another update on my 100 book reading challenge is needed.  And as the title suggests I am still off track.  Last month I only read one book, this month I have read two.  Yup that means my grand total is 3.

I am going to start posting my books read to date in each monthly post just in case you guys are curious.

  1. Dracula: Bram Stoker
  2. Z for Zachariah: Robert C. O'Brien
  3. Dracula The Un-Dead: Dacre Stoker & Ian Holt

If you guys have any suggestions for books to read you can post them in the comments.

Reading Challenge Fail

On new years I made a resolution to read 100 books by the end of the year.  This was thought up while I was still making my new years post so not much thought went into it(which explains the lack of creativity).  Anyways this was brought on by the fact that I had barely any free time and felt like I needed an extra incentive to start reading(I currently have over 50 unread books on my shelf).  I have just recently in the last week or so found reasonable amounts of free time so my first month of reading was a fail.

This month I have read a grand total of...........1.75 books(added in the .75 to make it just a bit better ^_^ ).

Hopefully next week Month my post will have a slightly higher number.

In other news I am officially starting to organize some of my thoughts so I can post more often.  I have started a list of posts I want to eventually make including: how I got into goth, a few posts on people who influence me and a short post that I see on most goth blogs about popular goth stereo types that I follow and ones that I don't.  If anyone has any post ideas they would like to see or any questions just comment bellow!

Happy New Years!

So we are officially in the new year as of 7 minutes ago(that is if you are in the same time zone as me) and I have just made my way to 100 views.  WOOOOOT!!  Anyways I was just thinking I have never made a new years resolution so I figured why not start this year.  I never saw a point in it but since I have been complaining so much lately about not having enough reading time my new year resolution for this year is to read 100 books by the end of the year.

I fully intend to keep track of the books I read and make a list of them.

To make things easier I am making a list of books that are going to be the first ones on the list.

Dracula by Bram Stoker (Yes I am just now getting around to reading this)
Abraham Lincoln; Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame Smith
The Fallen 1 by Thomas E. Sniegoski
The Fallen 2 by Thomas E. Sniegoski
The Fallen 3 by Thomas E. Sniegoski
The Book of Awesome by Neil Pasricha
Thirst No. 1 by Christopher Pike
Thirst No. 2 by Christopher Pike
Thirst No. 3 by Christopher Pike
Thirst No. 4 by Christopher Pike
A Madness of Angels by Kate Giffin
The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks
Shadow's Edge by Brent Weeks
Beyond the Shadows by Brent Weeks
Prospero Lost by L. Jagi Lamplighter
The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan
The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan
The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan
The Amityville Horror by Jay Anson
The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson

As you can see this is just a starting off list as there are only 21 books listed.  If you guys have any books that you like that are not on my list suggest them in the comments and I might just check them out.  I will also be posting occassional updated on my reading challenge.
